A Mother Moutain…

as I drive towards the city they call the mother city I saw it

It is majestic!

for it welcomed me with warmth only a mother can give

a moment treasured forever and i feel like a lost soul

that has come home to its santuary..

i watched you grow into a master piece

as i approached you and you make me feel small

but never inferior. you control this city, you rule

it with your overwhelming presence and energy…..

how many admiring glances do you get per day i wonder

perfection can’t describe your profoundness

i wish i can be as steady as you…. you are there

for all to see and yet somewhere down here a rush of people

are making a living forgetting about you, forgetting that you are

the reason they live here…

they concerns not with you but what happens around you and

how they hurt each other and that cloud that surrounds you on

certain days is it a way to keep out the noise the hustle and bustle of the

of the city or do you cover yourself to embraced the times

when but none was around.

i treasure you Table Mountain for you are a work of art everyday of my life here

you bring peace to my soul and whenever I conquer to the top of you

you bring me a sense of freedom

you have different views of yourself everyday…and whenever I look

out my window and you are there rock steady is when my thoughts become calming,

you make me feel close to nature in this concrete city….

i never feel lonely cause you there looking over

all of us you are my direction when i am lost.

you are all that makes sense in this madness of this city life

never a day goes by that i don’t give an bewildered stare and realise how unique you are.
