What is romance? and what is romantic?, since I can remember it was depicted as walks on the beach,sunsets, strawberries & cream, shampagne and cool drinks on excotic islands. We were taught this, whether your mother told you or you read it in romance novals, these scenes were never far from your mind when talking about romance.

I have grown up to believe it is love letters, white weddings, beautiful settings and a very handsome hunk! and the list goes on. Flowers and Chocolate were the best gifts a guy could give a woman, but through the years we have learned that it is not the gift or the perfect romantic moment. You can give a sixteen year old some flowers and chocolate and she will be thrilled, give a twenty eight year old woman flowers and chocolate and you would be cross questioned about your intension. This is how i believe we mature in romance and love, later in life you will learn it is not the times you took long walks on the beach but rather when your partner knows you better than yourself or the romantic evenings with candlelight and great food but rather the times you spend together as friends.

Great romance stories has been told, but never the one’s of the couple that recently celebrated their 50th anniversary or the forty year old’s that recently got married after decades of waiting and our parents surely they must have had some feelings for one another depending on where they are now.I wanna know if the story is still romantic even if you partner broke your heart in a thousand pieces? The start of a relationship is always the best and this also determines where the relationship leads to. The courting stage is very important as it is the story to be told, why does it have to end there..

Romance should be when you woke up in the morning and you look at your sleeping partner and your heart skips a beat and you realise how lucky you are, when you brush your teeth together, the way your partner intrigues you with that certain gesture they make. It is the moments we have with them every moment every second whether it is just sitting in silence and one disturbs it just to give the other one a kiss.

I t is those moments that should be considered romantic, the times you have to sacrifise so little for their pleasure and the times when they look at your from across a crowded room and you know it means that they love you. That for me is romance, the moments we share everyday with them.We look past it cause we see everyday and everyday we spend with them it is romantic….
